Biography:
"Hello, my name is Andre De Freitas and I'm an illustrator and occasional photographer born and raised in Lima, Peru. I studied in Full Sail University and got a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation. But oddly enough, the concept of stillness captured my imagination, and I focused more on illustration. Instead of just drawing, I tried to imagine myself taking photos of my subjects. That way the illusion of stillness would be a little more believable, almost like a photograph. After that, my insertion into the world of photography was almost based on instinct."

This image shows the outline of a woman in the left hand side of the photograph. It has been double exposed, therefore an image of a cityscape can be seen layered onto the photo. Just towards the side of the most apparent figure in this image, there is a blurred woman in movement that you can see very faintly. The imagery slowly fades out towards the right hand side. It is black and white which subjectively gives a mysterious feel.
Also, in my opinion I see that this image brings about a transparency and could suggest that God is imminent and present wherever you go. The way her face is turned towards a white light has connotations of spirituality, as if she is looking to heaven for help. |
